rushing next semester

by:

I'd like to join a frat that throws down but maintains high GPAs as well. My main concern with rushing is that the members who don't have heavy course loads won't have leniency for those who do and my GPA will suffer. Any suggestions?

Same.

Right now my plan is to rush DKE, hopefully get a bid, and just take a bunch of caffeine and/or adderall while pledging to keep my gpa up.

Why do you want to be affiliated with a social group like DKE that has absolutely no ties to ASU?.. besides they don't care are about GPA since most flunk out and never finish school.

Well Id like to rush DKE,PIKE,SigEp, and SigChi, but DKE is my number 1 choice since they supposedly party the hardest and most often? And Idk if Ill have enough time to go to all the events.

Damn, you're lucky. I wish I had a prescription for adderall. I mentioned caffeine in the post above because thats my alternative when I cant find adderall haha

Most top tier sororities would put Lambda Chi as their favorite.

Who's relevant?
DKE, Kappa Sig, Delta Sig, Sig Chi, Pike.
Sig Ep & Pi Kapp occasionally.

Totally agree with you, but also Sig Psi

what's better on- or off-campus?

On campus is better. I promise what you hear on this site about off is not true. When you are off campus and you get a ticket, it's your responsibility. When you are on campus, it goes to the frat. And everything else is better being on campus

whaaaaat?? damn, i didn't know that. I thought the ticket would also go to the frat.

You just made a list of all the irrelevant "shameful" fraternities

What does "shameful fraternity" mean

Yeah, Idk about every chapter but I know my house definitely still has to pay for tickets. Nationals would never cover that

Not talking about the cost, I'm talking about the actual responsibilty. You can get kicked out of the school if you are ofc but get too many tickets. But if you are in an on campus frat the punishment goes to the chapter not you personally.

no if you throw a ton of parties and you happen to be in a fraternity, that does not influence the school's disciplinary actions toward you. that being said if you are not living at vista, and therefore it is tempe PD and not ASU PD that gives you a ticket, asu will never even find out what happens. Also, asu doesn't have rosters of off campus frats so yeah they wouldn't even know you're in one anyway

Oh I get what you're saying. It's rare, but sometimes Tempe PD actually reports it to ASU and you get a slap on the wrist. It's a meeting where they threaten to put you on academic probation, but I don't think they ever actually do.

Yeah can confirm PIKE is definitely not relevant, scrappiest kids @ ASU
