can we agree most everything is judged shallowly?

by:

Some people seem to complain about people being shallow on the rankings and how everyone treats each other. But that's how it's always been. That's how everything revolves around. Certain houses hang out with certain houses specifically because of how people look. Both sororities and Fraternities pick their pledges based on looks. If it wasn't there would be way more diversity but there isn't. Guys who are smart and fit and tall all end up only in a couple of houses and the rest of the guys end up some other house. Girls pick other girls because they look like them. They only pick other girls if they are very good students and then they drop them after the semester is over and that poor girl boosted their GPA average and is thus no more use to them.

All of you who are saying you care about character above all else need to stop kidding yourself. The guys/girls you hang out with is based almost entirely on looks. The only exceptions are people you meet in class or clubs.

actually there is a place where this doesn't happen and it's called the bottom tier.

I think that's what's meant by "the rest of the guys end up some other house."

I've never once picked my friends on how they look. I judge people based on the type of person they are. If this is truly how you pick your friends your gonna have a pretty lonely life in the future. Good luck to you

I never said this is how I pick my friends. I'm saying this is how the system works and how recruitment works during Rush week and who ends up getting dropped. I've just noticed that so many people are trying to pass their houses off as not being superficial when it's very clear they are. Honestly I only hang out with a couple guys from my house. Most of my other friends are either now graduated or independents.

@sorority Shots fired! I'm not saying they only pick good looking guys because honestly, there's only so many good looking guys that rush to go around. I'm just saying the ones that are studs generally end up in the same few houses. But those houses still have other spots to fill up. There's also legacies that have to be given serious consideration.(Don't want alumni parents getting upset and making phone calls because their son didn't get into the family house) And guys who generally are cool guys do get in.

True but I feel like girls are generally judged more on their individual basis than on their house. Girls from lower tier can be liked by a lot of guys if she's cool and people find her attractive. It doesn't matter if her house is bottom tier she'll still get a lot of fanfare. And the opposite can happy. Crap girl in top house can be ignored by guys excluding the ones that try to get with just about anything that's willing.

Fiji has actual guys that look like Dads in it lol but that's not the point, the point is that guys get a lot more slack when going through recruitment than girls do.
