Arizona State University - ASU 4.5 If you plan on rushing this Fall, then stop basing your judgement off Greek Rank right now. Go to walk around / rush events to meet people, be yourself, be outgoing, and pick a house you fit best with. Please don't be fake because people will see right through that. Greek Life will give you an experience like no other, and whether that's good or bad is however you make it. Moral of the story - just rush and don't be a GDI

Arizona State University - ASU 3.5 To summarize, YES JOIN GREEK LIFE. The bad stuff: Greek life here gets a bad rep, while everyone is friendly, organizations hate other organizations so it's a lot of bickering and hard for newer organizations to gain the spotlight. Because of this, there is a huge disconnect between frats worth rushing and frats not relevant. 28 frats and maybe half are relevant. This makes it hard for new fraternities trying to grow while old so many recruits go to the older/better houses and avoid the new ones which show potential. Same thing with sororities. Because of Formal recruitment and basically being judged by looks, it's hard to go up if you're not hot. Housing is terrible, frats will still party in houses but there are no centralized housing places except those prisons Crowe is building and Vista. The good Stuff: if you're reasonable and go for houses you fit in, you will definitely enjoy it. Everyone is a connection because of the small ratio of Greek life compared to campus. and yes even though it's small, Greek Life controls the parties and politics in the Student population. And compared to other universities, significantly cheap, only a couple hundred bucks per semester.

Arizona State University - ASU 1.5 I have been in Greek life all 4 years at ASU and I don't recommend it. If you want to meet people join a club or do intermural sports. Greek life is expensive and the benefits outweigh the cons. It's not worth it in my opinion, it will probably get better when the greek houses are finished but you already know ASU PD is going to be hanging out by there all the time.

Arizona State University - ASU 3.8 ASU from the 50s thru spring 2011 had a pretty solid greek scene. The downfall really started in 2002 when ASU started tearing down Adelphi Drive (old row) and then from that point they slowly tore down everything until in 2011-2012 when there was only 1 frat house, and after that year there were zero. After losing their houses, alot of frats got whole apartment complexes which were basically like off campus frat houses. However, after 2015, there was noone left in greek life who was actually around for alpha drive and frats lost site of the importance of housing. Now only 2 frats even have complexes (at one point almost every top house had a plex). The school is 5% greek and ASUPD cracks down pretty hard. Greek parties are still the best house parties around, but unless it's FIJI or KA, the parties are still at houses/apartments just like a GDI party. There's more alc, hotter girls, and better ratios with the frats, but you can't compare packing a 1200-2500 sq ft house with a 10,000 sq ft frat house or having an entire apartment complex, courtyard and all.

Arizona State University - ASU 4.5 Incoming Freshmen for next semester: don't base you're choice on which fraternity/sorority to join thru this website. Go to walk around/rush events, find yourself a good group of people that you could see spending a lot of time with, and just go for it. Greek life here is good right now, and only going to get better with ASU bringing the houses back

Arizona State University - ASU 3.0 A very competitive Greek community. It is honestly extremely juvenile. Every frat and sorority is mean to each other. I always feel bad for new Frats and Srats. Like none of this will matter after we graduate

Arizona State University - ASU 3.0 The housing is horrible. FSL needs to fix it fast because the Villas & Adelphi are honestly embarrassing compared to other schools in Arizona and the country.
