Honest question

sororities are expensive here too, I wonder what you would find if you audited these orgs.

Honestly, JMU Greek life isn’t that good and it’s definitely not at the level of what the tops act like. And that goes for frats too. Honestly a bunch of average looking people acting Ike they are so much more than they are. Frats are even worse. This school needs to overhaul their Greek life, it’s toxic and disturbing.

Some of the sororities look Jersey bc so many are from Jersey!!!!! DDD is relatively new here and brought on bc we needed more sororities. SK and ASA have really taken on the majority of Jersey girls and you can see that in the girls they have.

Aphi nationally is known for having well rounded girls yet the chapter here at JMU is full of sissy mamas that try to mom everyone. They aren’t the worst sorority, but seriously they are so of the most self centered people i’ve ever talked to.

It’s because recruitment is supposed to be “no frills” now a days but some campuses enforce it harder than others. As for the outfits, shein is just an easy go to these days and it’s hard to ask girls to spend a lot of money on outfits

Frankly, a lot of schools are a lot older and have a more established greek life. JMU is still young when it comes to all of this stuff and in general, doesn't attract as many really rich kids that can spend thousands a semester on dues. I think it actually makes the school more fun, but people have their own opinions on that. If you're expecting super expensive budgets then you won't find that here. If you're looking for one of the most underrated party schools in the country, you found it. You'll also find a 6:4 ratio and badies on badies. Js

I'll be honest. JMU really will never be like Ole Miss, or Clemson or whatever. Because it isn't a pure social school. JMU is more nursing school vibe, in the mountains. That Parties Pretty hard. The reason there are hot girls here are because of that. if there was no good nursing program and no mountain vibe then more of these chicks would have gone to state schools. Plus New Jeresy has so many kids that want to go to college that they are basically a feeding school for JMU.

And people still complain about the dues here and that’s why a lot of girls drop by Senior year. Dues at places like Ole Miss are 4 - 5 x what is paid here. JMU is not a rich kid school, you’re not going to get that vibe here except for a lot of people pretending in the top chapters that they have money and class and always trying to be someone they aren’t.

Everyone looked so good last night. It was so nice to see all the chapters dressed nicely. I loved seeing the different colors the chapters chose and it gave a different feeling on the row and to the rush experience itself.
