Will Greek life eventually be killed by the universit
by: DukeIt seems like through the years the schools mood towards Greek life has been getting significantly worse, personally I think Greek life would be lucky to go another five years at the school. A lot of people make the argument that the school needs the from Greek life donors but I find it hard to believe that Greek life really makes a splash in a bucket of funding for public education. It’s a shame but I wanted to see what other people thought about Greek life‘s future at the school.

JMU used to be a party heaven, now it’s a school that kids who can’t get into tech go to. Greek life used to be something special, but now there are cops everywhere and the FSL and managers of the best houses all keep in coordination and give the best houses to the worst fraternities to prevent mass partying. Needs change or it’ll be less then 5 years that this schools greek life will fall.

does KA have main or DU? does anyone really know? because if KA got it then they will be top for a long time but if DU gets it then they will just be mid tier, but poor pike loses no matter what

As a senior in one of the “better” orgs I can say that this true. Seeing how much things have changed since I was a freshman is quite concerning considering that I haven’t even graduated. I can only imagine how hard it is going to be running an org a few years down the road. In reality if we want change WE need to do something about it. FSL, JMU, and the HPD don’t work for us but against us. We have to make a stand and fight for our rights as cringey as that may sound. My time has come to past but you younger kids this is your beginning fight hard so that we don’t lose this thing we all hold so dear.

it’s bound to happen soon, aside from southern colleges. Greek life especially in the north east is becoming woke. More and more people just naturally hate it. Fraternities are getting bad reputations for just existing, it’s destroying the jmu we know, and harrisonburg has barley a bar scene. Fraternities and sororities need to prove to the school that they serve an important funcation, or else the school is just gonna get rid of it, which they are basically starting to do without actually doing it yet.

I mean 3 of the 4 best houses main gb and bungalow will be held by KA and DSIG which are top frats in most ppls eyes so the housing thing doesn't rly make sense, signu will still have chapter which is a good house too
