I got dropped by 9! How does this even work or happen? I thought everything was good. Is this normal? I know a lot of girls are rushing and you have to make cuts but it just sucks

it’s totally normal. Some girls have one, some girls have 9, but most fall in the 3-6 range after the first cuts. Keep going back and get to know the chapters you have left and see what happens.

Thank you, it’s just rough. I didn’t realize 3-6 was normal. I guess that’s the average? I figured it was 8-9. Maybe they make the biggest cuts after open house?

The biggest cuts are always after open house, and because of the way the system is set up, the more popular chapters have to make the bigger cuts than less popular chapters which makes it seem even worse. Don’t take it personally. They didn’t get a chance to know you. Think of it like colleges trying to accept the right number of applications to get the same number of freshmen each year. The colleges that get the most applications have to reject a larger percentage.

I had 2 after open house last year and was a mess but I kept those 2 until pref and got the chapter I wanted. Hang in there!

The recruitment algorithm works to make sure all houses get around the same amount of girls. Go back to the 3 that want you and keep an open mind
