2013 fraternity rankings

any opinions on top fraternities? At least the ones that are on campus still? (sorry ks and dx)
1. Kappa Alpha Order 2. Pi Kappa Alpha 3. Alpha Tau Omega 4. Sigma Chi 5. Sigma Nu 6. Pi Kappa Alpha 7. Sigma Phi Epsilon 8. Lambda Chi Alpha 9. Delta Sigma Phi 10. Delta Upsilon 11. Phi Gamma Delta 12. Tau Kappa Epsilon 13. Theta Chi 14. Alpha Epsilon Pi 15. Delta Tau Delta

"SigEp" not SPE because they are a BM chapter, being anywhere in the top 9 is laughable. They try so hard to be frat stars, have no pledge process, and hand out bids to anyone willing to spend $100 at a polo outlet.

It's clear that the top tier is going to change in the next couple of years. Wouldn't be surprised seeing SX fall, because they will either get kicked off in a year or if they survive, they'll lose their house to JMU. SN is doing a good job at building same with Pikapp and LXA. ATO is too large to be anything above decent.

I find it funny how people ask for others views and then criticize their response. The whole point of this website is to get a holistic view of people's judgement on the greek community... Rather than being critical of someone's response why don't you just provide your own input? And let's be honest, the entire greek community has gone through a "southern" influx, more so with DX being the biggest tryhards out there.

I wouldn't describe DX, SX, or SN as try hards. SN maybe. The real try hards honestly are sig ep. You just don't see them as often. DX and SX are at least fun. SN kind of. But when you have Sig Eps from Rhode Island and Mass going to football games wearing blazers, camo overalls, and bowties (not making this up), it kind of screams try hard.

So you're saying your definition of tryhard depends on whether you like them or not? And how do you know where their fraternity brothers are from and what exactly they are wearing, that's creepy. If you base a "tryhard" on where people are from then at least a third of my sorority sisters are tryhards. Which is ironic because most of the clothes that are "fratty/sororityty/greek" are actually from the north.

Agreed, but it all depends. If they finally piss off IFC enough, and something goes wrong, then they will get the boot. But, if they somehow don't get booted, they lose their house because JMU is buying it. Where would they go from there? It's hard as hell to get a South Mason house.

My boyfriends in sigma chi and he told me that JMU doesn't plan to expand enough to destroy sigma chis house for a while. I'm a sophomore and I know that the expansion will definitely happen after I graduate. Sigma chi is looking into other backup houses but I also know that JMU is looking into finally building a fraternity row when they expand. Either way, I don't see sigma chi falling anytime soon and they will probably stay on top for a while, even if they lose their house it won't affect them that dramatically.
