understanding rankings

my suite mates often talk about “top tier/middle/bottom” sororities... what gives them that ranking? I’m thinking about rushing next year and am curious on what the ranks mean....

Top: Hot girls, bubbly, loud, trendy, tan, mix with all the top frats
Middle: cute girls, still mix but not with top frats, usually cool but more laidback
bottom: girls that wanted to join something but didn’t care about status, nice, sweet, still have some mixers
