opinion about greek life at jmu

by: X

I’m going to be a senior this year and I’m in a sorority that’s considered to be top on campus and while I found a few good friends, I would not say that I’ve ever felt a strong feeling of sisterhood. I remember going to mixers as a freshman and sophomore and it would just be small clusters of my sisters talking to each other and you really do feel the presence of cliques. When I lived in my house there was definitely an “in crowd” and an “out crowd” even within the house girls. Although being a part of greek life has introduced me to girls I wouldn’t have met otherwise and forced me to get involved, it’s also subjected me to a whole bunch of drama I wouldn’t have to deal with if I wasn’t in anything. Personally, I feel like the only perks of Greek life at jmu besides the minimal philanthropy we do is having mixers and making it easier to meet boys lol

To be honest just save your money if you’re hot and have a good personality. I’ve seen plenty of attractive gdis at top tier frat date functions

My experience has been the total opposite. I love my sisterhood and deal with relatively no drama...pick people for the right reasons and it works out

There’s always cattiness and poor sisterhood in like 5/6 of top and mid tier sororities. Only one that doesn’t really have drama is zeta
