Does former SigEp need to strike a deal with another national frat and get recognized in order to be successful?

This whole thread is just SigEp jerking itself off thinking it's better than middle tier.

They're in limbo right now. Maybe they improve next year or maybe they become irrelevant when sororities start cracking down on mixers and joint parties.

They'll probably affiliate with another national fraternity in a few years once all of the SigEp initiates have graduated.

For reasons I won't state here, Sig Ep got kicked off campus and their members formed a local club. They're not recognized on campus by IFC and by the university itself. Good sororitys don't mix with them. I guess it depends on how you define "official." I won't go into details on all the things they did to get their charter revoked, but considering they got kicked off, they're obviously not a real fraternity like others.

Despite some setbacks, the brothers are focused on recruiting new men focused on academic achievement, campus leadership, and (yes) fun. Look for exciting news about recruitment in September.

There are a few leaders who are trying to address the chapter's shortcomings and improve some operational issues, but they were being held back by others with a status quo mentality rather than continuous improvement. Now that dead weight has been thrown off, the chapter is prepared to succeed and become the most highly valued student organization (... not just fraternity) on campus.

Just because a fraternity gets kicked off campus, doesn't mean their brotherhood is broken. People act like those that get kicked off are just a club a drinking idiots but regardless they will always be a fraternal organization. FSL is horrible at their job when you look at Greek life at every other university and it's sad that people assume that because of these tools, they can "destroy" a fraternity. If anything a brotherhood that stays together after getting "kicked off" is a good thing. Shows the true meaning of a fraternal organization.

But they didn't get kicked off. They quit.

So when sigma ep returns, will they automatically be as high ranked as they were when they were kicked off? Or will they have to work their way back up through the tiers?

Kicked off. Shouldn't be on this site anymore. JMU does not tolerate hazing

No, they turned in their charter. Surrendered it. Rolled it up and smoked it. Sent the ashes back to Richmond HQ.

They got kicked off months ago. Shouldn't be on Greek Rank anymore.

Sig Ep was suspended and the charter was revoked by nationals. The suspension stemmed from allegations brought by a girlfriend of one the recent pledges. She went on to the phone of her then-boyfriend during a fight and sent herself screenshots of proof that there was hazing going on.

They weren't the best on campus, and didn't make the best decisions, but they had a fantastic brotherhood. They made some mistakes in the last few years and I have no doubt they would've been on top this year. The guys who were left after nationals came down and expelled some brothers genuinely cared about the school, rushees, and had respect for all other fraternities. I understand why they got kicked off and they did it to themselves.

Nope. They all resigned their membership in the national frat. They're local now.
