In response to an earlier thread: greek life is so obviously superficial and elitist by its very nature I don't know how and of you can deny that as an outright objective fact. You literally choose people on the basis of how they look and how they will increase your overall social reputation. The entire system is emblematic of the worst parts of capitalism; it literally encourages the message that wealth, beauty and status should be equated with success. You may be having a blast at those themed gatherings, but in a broader sense; consider what you're a part of. It's a bankrupt system from a philosophical and moral standpoint and perpetuates a cycle of thoroughly deplorable attitudes and beliefs.
