With recruitment coming up, I just want to save some of the incoming freshman from making the same mistake I did. Do not be fooled by AOIIs recruitment. Going in, I felt such a connection with two other houses but the last night of recruitment, AOII laid it on heavy with the tears and an almost theatrical display of showing how close their sisterhood is. The truth is, AOII wants girls who will help them WIN. They seek out academics and athletes, but then once you are in you realize quickly that in daily life these types of girls are not valued by this sorority. In fact, many of us who fall into that category of making A's and keeping ourselves fit and being social get torn down behind the scenes for it. God help you if you're someone who boys like, because the average girls in this sorority are going to go holier than thou on you and look down their nose at you. They disguise a lot of their jealousy with being sisters in Christ. As a religious person myself I can tell you it's anything but Christian how they behave. This sorority's goody two shoes groups snuff out the brightest shining lights of the bunch. If you have too many friends outside AOII or from other sororities, or God forbid you or your friends get a boyfriend, you'll be talked about by the girls living in the house nonstop. Several of my friends in AOII wish they had gone with other sororities. If you're smart, athletic, and outgoing, don't let yourself become one of their statistics they use to prop up their GPA or win dance competitions. Go with KD, Chi O, Phi Mu, ANYONE but AOII.

These girls used to be the best most beautiful and smartest on campus but this year everything has changed. Aopi filled their roster this year with a lot of boring judgmental prudes who look down their nose at anyone who has a good time. The good girls in this case are wolves in sheeps clothing. They are back biting gossips who clique together. I have loved this sisterhood for so long but it’s not the same anymore. I have an incoming friend coming to school here next year but I can’t recommend Aopi to her.

Joining this sorority is the one thing I wish I could’ve taken away from my college experience. There was no room for girls with an individualist mindset and god forbid you upset anyone with friends in leadership. I know through personal experience this sorority prioritizes public perception over protecting and supporting their “sisters”. Hypocrisy runs deep in this sorority and you will be judged harshly for making mistakes even if those same mistakes have been performed by chapter leaders. This chapter has a reputation for winning song fest. Be prepared to drop everything (including school and work obligations) to spend hours at the sorority house practicing the routine while you get screamed at and berated for your lack of dancing skills. Know that going through rush will be hard and the internal PNM voting process is beyond superficial. Girls were voted out based off rumors of promiscuity. The girls who were looked upon highly were the ones who presented aspects beneficial to the sorority in terms of accolades (grades, athletic, involvement etc). If you are looking for love, acceptance, and sisterhood please go elsewhere.

As a fellow sister I’m sorry this happened to you. I loved so many of my sisters through the years but I found the new wave and new chapter leaders to be just what you say. Phony just to keep up appearances but anything but kind and supportive behind the scenes. The highest achieving girls with the most potential are often outvoted for important roles by jealous mean spirited cliques. I am so tired of seeing these girls fake cry about each other and build each other up on social media like they are all best friends, just to watch them tear down and gang up on the girls they are most jealous of behind the scenes in the house. It’s become more of a pageant than a sisterhood. I’m on my way out but it makes me sad. A lot of beautiful, smart, worthwhile girls will deactivate this year and in years to come im afraid if something doesn’t change.

Love them they are so awesome!!! Some of the best girls and they are so friendly and outgoing! Always know how to have a good time and very classy while doing it!

As a past initiate of this sorority, these girls look so good on paper and are great at faking a conversation. Once I got in and started to see the real them, it was terrible. The girls are straight up rude and disrespectful. This sisterhood is a scam and you will be disappointed.

They put on a great face, but they’re sisterhood is very surface level and not as in depth as other sororities on campus. They do a great rush but make sure to see if these girls are being genuine or if they are forcing tears to seem sincere. 2 of their new members drop fairly quickly last year due to how strict they are.

Writing this review to warn possible PNMs about the good and bad in each sorority without fabrication. AOII, to start these girls are always put together and classy, most have very good grades and they are pretty selective. All good things come with bad though. The girls are almost always not very approachable, so many sorority rules so if you don’t like being told what to do this sorority isn’t for you.

They are so worried about what every other sorority does it is unreal. They are so quick to talk down on the other chapters at South. So many tattle tales and teacher’s pets in this sorority. They shamed me for wearing 2 inch Lulu shorts and a crop top! They used to be the best but they have fallen off because they are too worried about what everyone else is doing and adding it to their burn book!!!
