Statement on "Looks"

STATEMENT ON REMOVING "LOOKS" CRITERIA

As of 11/14/17, looks no longer factors into the ratings/rankings for greek organizations on Greekrank.com. We do understand that many consider this an important criteria for a greek organization and in the future we will have a category called "Known For" where you can specify "Good Looks" as an option. But at Greekrank we believe friendliness, philanthropy, academics, and brotherhood/sisterhood are far more important qualities to consider. We are not alone - in our poll 40% of users wanted the "Looks" criteria removed as well. In addition, rating based on appearance can sometimes leave room for cyberbullying, something we are working hard to combat.

In the coming weeks, more controls will be put in place to monitor posts for names, profanity, spam, and other malicious content. Our goal is to have the site completely free of any negative content whatsoever. We urge you to consider your morals before you post and keep it positive and constructive. Additionally, we ask that you think about your own future, as police investigations have been opened due to cyberbullying on Greekrank.com before. If you cannot resist the urge to bully or demean your fellow classmates, we implore you to seek help or find another avenue for your aggression.
