Gettysburg punches far above its weight. Greek life dominates the campus with an attested ~35% involvement rate, but it's really more like 50%. It used to be a miracle of liberal arts schools: 10 active fraternities, all with big houses, all rushing huge classes and throwing daily parties. Things have changed a bit in the past 15 years. TKE was booted off, Phi Psi lost their house, Phi Sig lost their house and was later booted, AXP lost their house, and now FIJI is on suspension and may not recover. Phi Psi and Phi Sig are likely to vanish since they both only have a handful of brothers remaining. Still, even with all this weighing it down, Gburg is a really fun school with large and tight brotherhoods. Every org here is respectable and you can't go wrong rushing any of them. Top tier houses over the past few years are generally considered to be ATO, SAE, PSK, and PDT. PSK/Phi Sig will disappear soon due to losing their house. ATO has always been the undisputed king of campus. Fraternities are not exclusive and you should have no problem getting a few bids, just gotta fit in with the brothers. In a nutshell, it's bizarrely Greek and very lively for a small school. It's like if PSU just lost 90% of its student body and continued partying as normal.
