Population: while a small percentage of IU students are greek, it feels massive and almost like thats the only way to socialize/have fun besides going to bars. Housing Quality: Girls have to live in for 2 years (usually, can't speak for every chapter) but housing quality is dope, can't really complain there. most sororities have really nice houses, frats can be dumpy but haven't heard many complaints from friends living in frats. involvement: Each chapter has their own philanthropy but (not all but most) seem to not really be interested in it. Involvement on campus is kinda slim I'd say they all exist more just for social reasons. social scene: parties basically whenever you want to go to one. It's harder for girls in "lower tier" sororities to get into some frats, just really depends on what the older frat members have told the pledges checking people in that night. Sometimes they're more selective, sometimes they aren't. Also depends on which frats. Parties are almost always really lit though. attractiveness: theres hot and not so hot people in every chapter (frats and sororities included.) gender ratio: not really sure what this means, there are more frats but frats have smaller pledge classes. Sororities usually have around 60 members per pc. I'd say they even each other out. greek hazing: As for girls it's not that common, or it is at least not that intense. Guys, on the other hand, have horrible hazing. I've heard some real horror stories from friends in frats. BUT, nationals has tightened the reigns and IU has been kicking frats off for hazing/other reasons included. selection difficulty: as for girls I know that selection is extremely competitive. While rush isn't exactly "hard," it's really time consuming, tiring, and a ton of girls end up not being satisfied with their bids or end up not getting one.
