Comment:  Kappa’s gotten really good at covering up their past. But the truth is, they’ve had issues for years, and the recent PR campaign they have been putting on is more about hiding that than fixing it. 2021: Black Out or Back Out – Actives invited PNMs to a party and pressured them to drink before recruitment even started. They were on probation for over a year because of it. 2022: Bid Day Haircuts – Just a year later, they were under investigation again and got put on social probation. Those are the headline issues, but honestly, the deeper problems seem more personal. I’ve only met a few Kappas who actually love their experience. A lot of girls have said it’s hard to make real friends, and that the vibe can be very mean girl. It often feels like everything’s about appearances, who’s wearing what, who’s going to what event, not who you are as a person. If you want a sorority where you feel seen and supported for you, Kappa might not be the best fit. It can feel like you’re just trying to keep up, with people who don’t really know you, for four years straight.
