This response is really for anyone researching sororities at Wake. The String/Beta, former PiPhi sisterhood is strong. They were the first society at Wake, and even Wake Forest administration knew the value of that sisterhood when PiPhi called it quits after years of not being able to shake the legacy of Strings. Strings didn’t fit the PiPhi mold. And the incident that they used to close it down at WF, there were other sororities with much worse infractions. At any rate, I will tell you this as an alum, your true connections will come from being a graduate of Wake Forest. Whenever you meet a fellow Deac years after graduation, you will have an instant connection. It doesn’t matter the sorority. Sororities at Wake are awesome that way because of delayed rush and your ability to make friends outside of the sorority lines. My closest Wake friends to this day are evenly split across the Panhellenic spectrum. And honestly, the fraternity you hang out with most will be the girls you are friends with. That and your classes. Wake is DIFFERENT than a large state university. Of course, you should know that because you chose Wake over larger schools. Wake is a special place. Don’t overthink rush. Go with where you are the most comfortable. Ok. Done.
