I took all AP classes my senior year and graduated with a 3.96 on a 4-point scale. I have won music honors at the state level, went to state in swimming and soccer and was runner-up in a well-respected midwestern beauty pageant. (The scholarship money I won will really come in handy!) Anyway, here's my conundrum: I tend to be shy (though I have lots of good friends and abide by that adage "to have a friend, be a friend") and I am from out-of-state so I don't know anyone on campus. I am thinking of not following through with rush because the thought of it is a bit intimidating, but I think I would really miss the friendships that come with sorority life and am hoping to find a way to make a contribution in a sisterhood. Do you think I have a chance? Is it true that a lot of houses just take other women with whom they went to high school? I'm really confused about this. I don't want to embarrass myself if I don't have a chance, but I do think I have something to offer. What do YOU think?
