Her name is Melinda Riley. She's the daughter of former Alabama governor Bob Riley and was a Phi Mu at Alabama back in the 90s. She ran against the machine candidate even after being threatened by the machine. She was physically assaulted by representatives of the machine after she refused to drop out. After that, SGA was disbanded for two years at UA and Kappa Alpha Theta dropped their membership from the machine.
