Speaking as an out of state pnm (now new member) the whole machine thing is one reason that out of state girls prefer the houses not in the machine. It just sounds like the mafia and from what I've read they tell you who to vote for, control swaps, etc. You grew up with it, but for the rest of us it's weird.
