Perfect comment. Every year girls come into recruitment thinking they are too good for a majority of the houses. Most are able to be enlightened after they visit the houses and recognize that they're the victims of intentional mind manipulation by old biddies who graduated long ago or actives looking to increase the prestige of their houses. The ones who don't get it usually drop out and find later that being an independent isn't nearly as much fun as being in any house.
