I have to agree with "Wha??" I recently graduated and moved back home to Texas for grad school and one of the reasons I picked the sorority that I did was for the alumni presence and strength. Also something to consider, someone from Texas might go PKT + Tri Delt, XO or the West Coast go APhi, GPhi, DG simply because their rec letters from those areas will be stronger. Like for me, I personally knew many women in those Texas sororities who were big doners and former presidents, but for KD, Phi Mu, AGD, AOPi, APhi, I had "info only" recs because I couldn't find anyone who I knew in those sororities. I was dropped by KD and AGD but stayed on with Tri Delt, XO, and Kappa, probably because of the strength of my recs.
