This makes no sense. Just because OOS girls have pledged AGD /KD/ AOPi at Bama for 10 years doesn't mean there is a thriving AGD young alumnae group in DC, NYC, LA, Dallas, Houston, etc. Bama isn't that big in the larger scheme of things....maybe the alumnae chapters in Atlanta or Nashville are bigger now, but most of OOS are coming from further away than Georgia or Tennessee now. A Texas girl who pledges Pi Phi / Kappa/ Theta/ Chi O will have a great experience at Bama AND move home to a young (20-something's who happy hour & brunch, not moms) alumnae group with 200-300 members. Someone who is from the West Coast would enjoy the lifetime benefits of pledging DG or Phi Mu more than KD/ADPi/AGD. Considering lifetime membership is smart, especially for OOS PNM's who have grown up watching their sisters / moms/ aunts be very involved with their alumnae chapters and wish to do the same.
