Let me just tell you about MY experience as a freshman who had a sorority house to hang out at, and maybe it'll give you a deeper understanding of how this will effect you. I was at my sorority house every waking minute. For breakfast before class, in between classes, every meal, to study, to hang out, watch movies, get to know people. I was there every game day with my parents eating it watching away games with friends. I practically lived there during homecoming week, pomping the lawn decoration and other things. I was there every Sunday night for new member meetings, we gathered there before every swap, met there when we had to get on busses to date parties, had rush workshops there all spring, I went there after every long night out to get some snacks before heading back to tut to go to bed. I can't imagine NOT having a sorority house. I know you will not know anything different, but believe me when I say how important it is for every freshman to have a for real home away from home. Their new house is a long trek away from the dorms, it is tiny, meals will not be served there, you will not be able to study there, and most likely, you won't be able to hang out in such a tight space. I do like ZTA, I'm not bashing them at all, but I think you as a pnm need to get the full freshman experience and I just don't see that for girls who will pledge zeta.
