If you are a pnm that pledges them, you know it is a house that is serious about standards and is aspiring to be competitive in all aspects -- as opposed to other houses you may pledge that are more chill on that and maybe have more lookers and very active socially. Different houses have different aspirations and priorities. Good questions for you to ask at recruitment, but be artful.
