The pledge classes being so large can actually improve the sorority experience, if you let it. It is not ideal, of course, but there is a silver lining. The silver lining is that there will in all likelihood be an array of interests and personality types in each house. If you engage in activities and have a positive outlook on things, even things that you may see as not fun, the odds are strong you will really form bonds and click with a number of other new members and actives. In a smaller chapter house, there is a lot of need to "get it right" at pledge, which can sometimes be a crap shoot. If you or they get it wrong, the experience sours. With the larger houses like UA has, it is probably possible to "get it right" at any house.
