I read it too. I was impressed by how bitter she was and that there was no way she was ever going to be happy. I don't know about Phi Mu because I am a pnm. But the article reminded me of several friends who are just not going to go with the flow on stuff. The article talks about how the author's friends and family were shocked she even was going to give greek life a shot. It is not for everyone. It was not for her. I think her attacks on Phi Mu could easily have been made at other houses, but Phi Mu was the target because they were the house that wanted her and that she wanted too, I guess. I read another thread on here about camps and stuff like that. Group dynamics, working together, sometimes conforming yourself to the goals and purposes of the team, and the like, are all good characterics learned in camps and sports teams and other things like cheer squads and dance teams. The football team at my highschool had shirts about TEAM being way above "me". In a sorority, this is sort of something you have to accept because no member is bigger than the institution. I think this is why girls who have activities and achievements in those areas are seen as good potential members.
