I would say to go for it. You might know who the bigots are by who drops you. I feel like this really would not hurt your chances as a whole, though...at least it wouldn't for my sorority. If you want it bad, then by all means, do it. The South is often a really screwed up place. As I said earlier, hold your head high and fight for the equality that Alabama still does not have.
