The GPA requirement for most houses, even the houses you said you didn't want, is a 3.5 (lowest a 3.0 for maybe SK and a 3.2 for Aphi). Girls with low GPA are the first ones to be dropped by houses during recruitment, even before open house. It doesn't matter how many connections you have, GPA drops are strict. I know of PNMs who had in-house sisters get dropped because their GPA didn't meet the house's requirement. I think it is important to remember that 2,500 girls went through recruitment last year and only about 2100 girls got bids which is 84%. That means about 3 out of every 20 girls or 1.5 out of every 10 girls will either decide to withdraw from recruitment or, more commonly, will be dropped by every house. Even the house you think are "below" you can and will be selective with the girls they invite back. Alabama's rush is intense and every house is filled with great girls no matter what the ranks on here tell you. If you really want to have a better chance at recruitment, I would suggest that you either COB in the spring or rush as a sophomore. By that point, the sorority will look at your college GPA (which hopefully will be higher than a 3.0) and not your high school.
