My hs friends were the same way. I’m from the north though so Greek life isn’t the same. Many go to schools with no Greek life at all. All the usual reasons: paying for friends, hazing worries, worries of pettiness (if they read this site they have proof of how toxic it is), stereotypes of just party kids I am sticking it out for the 4 years but to be honest I only really liked freshmen year.
