Advice for PNMs

Decide if you want to be in a particular sorority, or just in a sorority. If you want a particular sorority, your rush experience will most likely be challenging, because the odds you are invited back to that particular one are low ( if you had statistics in HS, you’ll understand), and more often than not, you will be disappointed. If you just want to be in a sorority, you are more likely to be pleased by the invitations you get, because you have given yourself a larger group from which to choose. You are open minded and flexible. You go into rush, not paying attention to the stupid rankings and snarky and mean comments on GR, but looking for positive things to like about all the chapters. Of course, you will have favorites, but they become your favorites after you meet the sisters. And if a favorite doesn’t ask you back, you allow yourself to be sad for 5 minutes, and then you find another favorite from the ones that did ask you back. You keep telling yourself, “it only takes one”, because that’s the truth. At the end of the day, you can only accept one bid, so as long as you have invitations keep going, if you just want to ge Greek.
