I also had a very similar experience! Adding to this - the first week of class I was surprised when a sophomore from another house invited me (and a few other ppl) over to study. By junior year, I realize this sort of thing is the norm, plus I still have my friends from my dorm freshman year. I think if someone were to see us in a group on campus they wouldn't be able to guess our houses.
