You don't ever have to drink if you don't want to. Swaps are safe. Stay in the 'basement' and don't go up to a room with a boy, which most chapters have rules about anyway. If you do drink, be smart about it. Shots are just a quick way to get hammered and are not the same as social drinking, so why put yourself in that position. If you are uncomfortable or don't feel you can trust the people you are with, don't put your drink down anywhere intending to come back to it; have your friends hold it and watch it for you while you go to the bathroom or whatever. Same goes for accepting an open container drink from someone you're not sure you can trust. Sisters looking out for each other.
