I would also add that you do share a room with another couple, usually, and you share a bed with your date unless you've already had a conversation about that. When I set up my two friends (with guys they already knew) with my date's friends, there was a pre-agreement that my two friends were sharing a bed together and they didn't care where their dates slept. If you are not in a relationship with your date, it can be awkward if you don't have the conversation before you go. I have only shared a room with another couple so if hooking up is happening, its not happening in the room...for most dignified girls even if you are with your boyfriend. I find the most awkward thing is to share a room and bathroom with another girl you don't know. The dates my boyfriend's bestie has brought to Nola have been rude and hot messes. Its why I usually try to get my friend's dates.
