At the end of the day, Bama Greek life is far superior than any other college's Greek system. Every house here has so many members that you will find friends in your new member class if you try. Every house has new member retreats, swaps, date parties, homecoming pairings, and sisterhood events that are uniquely Bama. The guys in fraternities don't really care about your house affiliation as long as you are fun and cute. All of the houses are mansions and have incredible amenities, cooks, etc. Tailgates, NOLA formals, darties, and other Bama Greek traditions make the whole experience incredible in any house as long as you don't have a negative attitude and ruin it for yourself. A lot of time is spent talking about ranks here because it is GR but I have friends in many sororities and we are all having a very similar experience. We don't really care what sorority each of us is in... and I have chosen not to be friends with girls that can't seem to leave high school and mean girls cliques behind. Its a big college, you don't have to get involved with that if you don't want to. PNMs should not stress. Accept your bid, go to the new member retreat, eat and hang out at the house, go to the first swaps, find your posse in your new member class that share your vibe, go to sisterhood events, get involved, and have fun. It's not that deep. If you are a PNM, get excited. A bid from any house here is good. If it wasn't, 2500 PNMs wouldn't go through recruitment year over year here.
