I know it hurts & it seems so unfair to be cut without really meeting any actives in person. The really competitive chapters sometimes have to cut 700, 800, 1000, or more PNM’s after Open House because the stats show that almost 100% of PNM’s rank them high & want to return. In order to give every chapter a chance to thrive - which is why Bama’s sorority system is SOO strong & sought after, every chapter IS thriving! - the most competitive chapters have to cut hard at the beginning. It’s tough because they mostly cut for basic membership criteria stuff this early - like GPA, recs, and unfortunately not your personality or your potential to be an amazing member. BUT on the flip side, it allows PNM’s to spend more time with chapters who are interested in you and not get your hopes up. And before anyone has this thought….EVERY SINGLE CHAPTER HERE CUTS. Everyone of them has high standards. Less competitive chapters are still cutting 300, 400, ++ PNM’s after Open House. Be GLAD chapters are interested in knowing your more!!
