Subject:
Another Take on Social Media and Rush

Poster Message:
Everyone on here talking about how certain houses value social media and reputation over values and sisterhood is entitled to their opinion. I understand where you are coming from. However I believe there’s a clear difference between girls worrying solely about “follower count” and them recognizing the affect and importance of social media marketing. Just because certain houses are embracing social media’s influence on PNMS does not mean they are shallow. It is a rush tactic like any other. I feel like it’s also wrong to assume a house is unauthentic or has a bad sisterhood simply because many of the girls in it have been posting rush themed videos. It’s very narrow minded, especially if you aren’t in that sorority. You are judging the character of an entire group based on one thing you saw on TikTok. If your house isn’t big into social media then that is completely fine too. No one is forcing you to post anything. But there is no need to bash houses who choose to post more content. I’m happy with how much my sorority embraces social media during rush and I know most of the others in my house feel the same way. We also love seeing talented video creators in other sororities post their own videos. It’s really not hard to be positive and uplift each other, I wish there was more of that on here.
