Makes sense. The good old boy alums from DKE and the OR frats basically run the Machine primarily to pick student body government candidates and make sure all members of the Machine for their handpicked candidate to guarantee that control of the University remains in the hands of the good old boys. What do the sororities get in return? The Homecoming Queen title. The Machine/good old boys make sure that the handpicked candidate wins that title each year…and the candidate is always a girl from one of the sororities a part of the Machine. To be fair among the sororities in the Machine, they make sure to rotate which sorority gets to have the winning homecoming Queen candidate each year. Good for Theta Nationals for not wanting to be affiliated with all of that.
