first off anyone who can afford to be dropping 7k-10k on dues alone is well off. i am an OOS student in a mid tier sorority and most girls are totally normal and aren’t spending like crazy. I know one girl who’s parents make close to 5mill a year and she spends like crazy but other than that I don’t know many people like that. There are definitely rich people here that have money but I’m sorry southern definition of having money is nothing near what northern or western kids think of. Look at the stats of how many billionaires per state. If you’ve ever been around truly wealthily people (billionaires) you know they aren’t as flashy and many times keep things lowkey. I often compare college with people I know that go to Ivy League schools, Stanford, USC, SMU and while bama may have some “rich” people it’s nothing compared to these schools.
