When you stated first circle is more of a social/class structure within old row, you’re right. However there is a big fact that is left out of many old row posts. Many people think that old row is the sororities that were first on campus and have the “longest history and tradition” but that isn’t true. Old row was originally started among the first 6 fraternities on campus. These fraternities would invite the first 6 sororities to their parties which ultimately dubbed them “old row” sororities. These six sororities include (in order) KD, ADPI, ZTA, DDD, AGD, and XO. These are the original “Old Row sororities because they have been associated on campus the longest. Due to their standing rules, ADPI and ZTA were not allowed to be associated with the old row brand (cannot be associated with alcohol) so the fraternities instead asked PM and KKG to take their place forming what still stands as old row.
