Some strategy for pnms with a 3.0 to 3.4 gpa: Get a letter of rec for every house and make sure it is someone that knows you well and will be kind and supportive to write it well. Recruitment is harsh about grade cutoffs, so realize you may only have a chance to meet 4 or 5 chapters and the rest will cut you for grades at philanthropy round. Get ahead of this and let it go. Focus completely on whatever chapters ask you back- they see something in you that they liked. All it takes is one. Ranking chapters is strategic, so use this to your advantage to make it to pref round and not be released. Don’t waste your “1s” on a chapter where you have no letter of rec and you know they cut for grades well above where you are at. Rank those chapters lower and put the ones where you know someone, you have a letter of rec or you know they take girls with a lower gpa but have other great qualities. Your “1” ranking will help strengthen your chances of getting those chapters back and keep you in recruitment and prevent you from being released. Along with this, you need to absolutely ignore the tent talk. Recruitment at Bama is the Super Bowl of Sorority Rush and the lower tier houses here are stronger than the average chapters at most schools. They’re all “decent”.
