I am sorry you are already feeling pressure to join a house whose members you have not even met. For now, just smile and act interested when your relatives start up. Who knows-you may absolutely L.O.V.E. this house when you meet the sisters. You need to do your own thing, however. Feeling obligated to join a house just because of a family history, is not a good way to begin a relationship. Looking ahead, tell everybody that you will keep your mom updated on rush, and they can she will fill them in. Then you decide how much info you want to share with your mom.
