Just because you're an active member of your sorority's chapter at your school doesn't mean you'll automatically be an active member of Alabama's chapter. In my house what happens is some exec members meet with the girl who is looking to transfer. Then in a meeting they talk about you to all members of my sorority, since it's usually only one transfer, we have way more time to talk about positives and negatives. Then we all vote. The vote has to be above a certain number for you to be offered membership. Also, at least in my chapter, grades are a huge concern, if you don't have a really good GPA, you won't be invited to join our chapter and would have to just go alum. Just things to think about before you just decide to transfer.
