as long as u don’t talk about it with other houses during recruitment, they probably won’t know unless they know you from home. a very basic question to get during rush is — why did you decide to rush? a lot of girls with connections to greek life will start prattling on about their connections and can make it obvious that they’re only into certain house(s). you can easily respond in a way that makes you look open-minded instead! “My mom actually was in a chapter here at Bama and encouraged me to rush! It’s been so cool and exciting to meet all the houses and I can’t wait to find my home, especially with so many chapters on campus.” i once rushed a pnm who had an older active sister in another chapter and she gushed abt her chapter and her sister’s experiences and visiting them on gameday etc. maybe bc she was excited to have something to talk abt lol but it seemed like she was definitely going to go her sister’s house if given the chance and not really interested in getting to know other houses lol. she also name dropped the sorority and a bunch of frats they hang with which is a BIG no-no and turn off haha. she could’ve spun it into a more generic go greek thing but she didn’t lol and that’s why she got dropped. all the girls we invite back actually wanna be in our house so don’t pigeonhole yourself! if you say what u said here during recruitment no one will drop you for it. every girl rushing you would prob respect you more for it. especially the line about wanting to like your mother’s house for yourself and not for anyone else! good luck bby!
