If you freshman starting rush a couple random things some have been said a million times but since rush is soon: 1. It can’t be stressed enough… keep your options open. Most girls i know went through rush and were successful. Except for 2. Two of the nicest girls i know, BUT all through high school they fan girl Alpha Chi. All they talked about. One was AGD legacy and one a XO legacy. Upper class girls in AGD and xo ended up dropping them knowing they were set on alpha chi. alpha chi didn’t work out and they got another sorority they thought they didn’t want and both dropped. They didn’t even give the other sorority a chance. KEEP options open. 2. Make friends in your rho chi groups. Make friends with girls on your floor. Even if not same sorority. You will see them at date parties, formals, ballgames and they could be your best friends even if not in same pledge class. 3. See what house other people in your rho chi group are going to and if you click with them then you might click with that house. (Not that you really have a say but could help form an opinion) 4.wear something that makes you feel confident. I know that seems silly but don’t wear something because you think it latest fashion and uncomfortable. Its hot, its crowded, we dont’ get to see full body of you except for a minute. We focusing on conversations. 5. Don't second guess yourself if you are dropped and you thought you had an amazing conversation. We are there to make you feel at ease. We practice / workshop. Its not fake. We want everyone to want our house and be comfortable. If we are all having a good time it makes rush fun. 6. If you know someone who knows someone in a sorority. USE THAT contact. Make sure they know you are coming through rush and interested. NETWORK.
