It’s a conundrum. The more houses are willing to take a chance on out of state and especially out of region PNMs, the more likely it is that they will have a lower retention rate. The Alabama girls are the most likely to stay all 4 years. We all want to take out of state PNMs but it can definitely hurt our numbers. AL girls are the safest bet, but if we take too many, it hurts the overall quality of our PCs. In general, the out of state girls are stronger IMO. Also some of the GA and NC freshman who didn’t get into their home instate university and came to UA for their freshman year will transfer back to their home state as sophomores (because UGA and UNC are harder to get into as freshmen than UA). This especially impacts KKG and PM for UGA, and DDD, KD and XO for NC, because these are also top houses at their home state schools.
