I agree that the Gamma Phi's who broke the color barrier were brave and wonderful. But because of them, the Gamma Phis of today are NOT in the same boat with the rest of us. They are on the right side of history because of those girls. If you know how recruitment works, you'll realize that the African American women who recently went through recruitment likely dropped Gamma Phi early because they had so many higher ranked options. Then they were dropped by everyone else. And as to the reply above. I don't know all the Gamma Phis, but I do know a few and they don't care at all about status. They are happy to be in a house and love their sisters. Really, that was quite a mean comment to say the the house as a whole is desperate. I'd say it's just the opposite.
