I won't disagree that football has a little to do with people wanting to come here, but don't forget all the other sports that have won national championships. If your goal is to be the best, then you will recruit the best. that is what I think the university is trying to achieve in all areas, especially in academics. Let's face it, that is not going to happen if we only promote from within our state. Alabama just can't provide those numbers. If the student population is going to continue to go up, so will diversity. You can dig your heels in with tradition or get on board with the change. That includes Greek life.
