I was able to come up with these numbers that give an adequate geographical representation of the sorority greek population for the 2012 pledge classes. Total New Pledges 1707 From Alabama 606 36% From GA/TX/FL/TN 573 34% From VA/NC/KY/SC/LA/MS 161 9% All Other States 367 21% I separated out Georgia, Texas, Florida, and Tennessee because these four states represent the highest number of KNOWN and ACTIVE Alabama alumni (of all states) as of December 2012 (refer to The University of Alabama published fact book) and I was curious if there was a correlation. I don’t know the answer to that, but I would say it has value. Anyway, these figures do show that 64% of the 2012 pledge classes came from outside the state of Alabama. I can also say that each sorority took girls from GA/TX/FL/TN. Just thought I would share. Out of State PNMs can calm down now.
