If you read info at the IFC website, you'll see it says "Fraternities at the University of Alabama have a tradition of summer bidding. Should you receive a bid from a chapter it does not become official until September 4, 2013." Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but it looks like you can't accept any bid until that date, even if you got it weeks before then. That's the way I'm taking it. If true, maybe it's a rule to keep people from doing what you're asking about, which is a pretty classless move. Think about it. That's like trying to keep a sure thing in your back pocket while hoping something better comes along. I'd say if you actually and formally accepted a bid from a group and they found out you were still rushing, that'd be a very fair reason for them withdrawing your bid and taking it back. But I think the info at the IFC website is saying you can't accept any summer bids before 9-4. Someone correct me if I'm reading it wrong, though.
